Pi

Mathematical term; the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle.
Once upon a time some OHers posted one million digits of pi at some other forum. It was pretty funny. After that some people complained and caused a larger than life shitstorm which was funnier. They hated us for months, and we reveled in their fury. I think we have serious e-penis issues with said folk.
On one otherwise quiet Thursday evening, through an AIM chatroom, a very irate Cert suggested to her fellow OHers that they all pretend that OH is down and go invade LMDS. This was a very petty and hilarious reprisal from when LMDS would invade OH whenever their server went down. And so we did, and it was really funny.
However, all was not well - one of the participants was not entirely of sound mind. Brash, since he was a Freshman in college and therefore still thought it was cool, got pretty drunk and started playing on the internet. This wasn't a problem until, in his altered state, he thought it'd be awesome if he posted a million digits of pi on LMDS. And it was awesome.
The forum crashed.
The server administrator for LMDS then IMed Brash and asked him wtf his major malfunction is. It was explained to the admin exactly what a "joke" is and also what "terrible accidents" are. After Brash then pointed out that he had revealed a security hole, because any malicious poster could just post an enormous amount of text to bring down the forum, the admin agreed and the forum was brought back online: this time with a 10,000 character post limit.
So Brash posted 10,000 digits of pi.
After a night of drunken revelry, Brash made an obnoxious post in his livejournal detailing the excursion, essentially laughing at LMDS for letting him get away with murder. What resulted from this was the aforementioned shitstorm. Seren, the head of LMDS, woke up to find out about the whole mess, and about the livejournal entry made by the perpetrator, and was pissed. She subsequently deleted the post of pi along with every single thread any OHer posted that night, and banned all OH members from LMDS, creating a rift between the two forums that lasted for months.
It was awesome.
